Thousands of catfish, fancy carps and tilapias swim through the abandoned New World department store in Bangkok. After the store closed down in 1997 the now roofless the building filled with rainwater. Local people released fish into the water as they tried to control mosquitoes in the area.

But city workers are now going fishing in the once bustling shop, after the local government decided to remove the freshwater fish and drain the water from the building.
