Feeling hot, hot, hot
A girl stands among the cooling jets of a London fountain during a heatwave in Britain, with temperatures hitting the early 30s in degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit and above) – not all that hot by some countries’ standards, but fairly sweltering for the normally mild island. Brits are not the only ones to feel the heat over the past month: from the United States to Europe and China, various places across the northern hemisphere have been coping with scorching weather and residents have been finding ways to cool off.
