Anyone who visits Ireland in summer might experience bright sunshine, a thunderstorm, driving rain and more sunshine on a single day.
The west coast, where weather systems from the Atlantic meet mountains to create frequent rains, gets twice the rainfall of the east. On the other hand, extreme weather is rare and average national temperatures are 10 degrees Celsius (50 Fahrenheit).
