If you happen to be in Lisbon this week don’t be alarmed if you bump into a cast of weird and wonderful characters who appear to have stepped out of your dreams or nightmares.

It's just the week-long Iberian Mask Festival that takes place every year, with hundreds of participants from Spain, Italy and Portugal parading through the streets.
