As he sits in Jabalya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, 75-year-old Palestinian Khamis Redwan holds out his birth certificate, which he has kept since he and his family fled their hometown when he was 10 years old.

On May 15, Palestinians marked 65 years since what they call the "Nakba" (Catastrophe) when Israel's creation caused many to lose their homes and become refugees.

Hurriyeh Abu Latifeh is a 72-year-old Palestinian who says she was forced to flee her village in 1948. She now lives in Qalandiya Refugee Camp near the West Bank city of Ramallah.
