Junior skating teams came together in Los Angeles in June to take part in the National Championship for Banked Track Roller Derby: a competition not for the faint hearted.

The roller derby is a fast-paced contact sport, which sees teams of competitors whiz around a track as they try to score points. Junior players can be as young as seven, but what they lack in years, they make up for in feistiness, with skater names like 'Lil Bruiser' and 'Ripper N Half'.
