In the Tuva region of southern Siberia, an area inhabited by historically cattle-herding nomads, people consult local shamans to find out more about their destiny or address medical and other problems.
Practices include the Kamlanie night ritual, conducted by shamans representing the so-called Adyg Eeren (Bear Spirit) society.
