Going on a Eurotrip… Like driving across the States or backpacking around Asia, it’s a common dream holiday. But like any big trip, it requires the luxury of time and cash.

There is, however, a place where you can cheat. Park Europa, outside Madrid, is kitted out with replicas of European monuments, from the Brandenburg Gate to the Eiffel Tower, with a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall thrown in too, for visitors to come and see all of Europe at once.

While a trip to the park might not be as satisfying as a real journey across Europe, it gives tourists and locals a glimpse of some of the famous sights, and the chance to pose for pictures in front of them.

More importantly, Park Europa is supposed to play a role in environmental and social regeneration. Opened in 2010, it was built on an area that stood derelict for 40 years, occupied by abandoned warehouses, dumps and shanty housing. Now, boasts the local mayor on the park's website, it is a green space filled with over 5,000 trees.
